Breaux Bridge Man Arrested for Throwing Puppies Into River [MUG SHOT]
A Breaux Bridge man was arrested for throwing a bag of puppies into the water near Henderson.
A fisherman witnessed a white truck stopping on a bridge and the occupant of the truck throwing a bag into the water. Thinking that the person had thrown a bag of trash into the water, he went over and fished it out, trying to be a good samaritan. After he retrieved the bag, he realized that it wasn't filled with trash, but with puppies. 8 Lab/mixed puppies, less than a week old.
The St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office released security footage of the vehicle with a description. A $7,200 reward was offered for information leading to an arrest.
Arrested in the case was Gary James Goulas, 55, of Breaux Bridge. He has been charged with 8 counts of aggravated cruelty to animals.
The animals have been placed with a rescue organization, Every Paw Animal Rescue. If you'd like to donate to the rehabilitation of these puppies or if you are interested in adopting one, contact them on their Facebook Page.
