Its the math equation on line that has gone viral. Can you solve it?

When I first looked at the equation I thought to myself, "This isn't very complicated." So, why are so many people stressing over it?

I immediately went to the orders of operation and worked within the parenthesis and went from there. And that's the correct thing to do.

However, its the division sign (/) that is confusing people here. First, add 1 + 2, then multiply it by the solution of 6/2.
