The video above is from police dashcam showing college quarterback Shai Werts being arrested on July 31, 2019, in Clinton, South Carolina and charged with speeding and misdemeanor possession of cocaine. Turns out, the cocaine wasn't cocaine, it was bird poop.

Cops asked Werts what was the white substance on the hood of his car, to which he replied "bird shit". That wasn't enough for them, so they tested the substance and alleged that it tested positive for a controlled substance because it turned pink. He insisted it wasn't, and they still didn't believe him, which can be heard in the video at about the 15-minute mark.

“I swear to God it's not [bird poo],” the officer said, “because I just tested it, and that turned pink.”

According to TMZ Sports, it was later determined there was no controlled substance detected. Prosecutors announced on Thursday that the charges were being dropped and the charge will be expunged from the system so that no criminal history is created.

Werts had already been suspended from GSU team activities but will return and is expected to open the season on Aug. 31, said the news site.
