Ville Platte Man Shares Photo of Rat at Local Dollar General, Claims There Are More “All Over The Store”
Locals are sharing their concerns over a photo of a rat that was allegedly taken at an Acadiana-area Dollar General store.
A Ville Platte man shared the image to his Facebook page, claiming that he snapped the photo of the rodent while he was in the Dollar General store at 505 Tate Cove Rd in Ville Platte, LA.
The man said that he also witnessed rodent droppings and urine on products in the store. Sources we know who are familiar with that particular Dollar General say the store is located "near fields," making the building more susceptible to pests and rodents.
Reactions poured in, with one Facebook user urging the Ville Platte man to call the state to prevent someone from possibly getting sick.
Multiple Facebook users described a smell that was consistent with the man's allegations that there were rodents "all over the store."
Molly Smith also claimed that there were "more" rodents in the Tate Cove Rd location, describing the "dirty floor" in the Dollar General store that "smells just like dead rats."
We've reached out to Dollar General about the alleged rodent sighting as the photo continues to go viral with over 200 shares on social media.
Hopefully, the Dollar General store is able to remedy any issues as locals seem to enjoy the convenience of the store in their area—just minus the rats.
We'll update this story when and if we receive more information.
