The New Orleans Saints got themselves a surprise victory on Sunday in a very difficult environment in Seattle over the Seahawks. Teddy Bridgewater got the start in place of injured starter Drew Brees and he played pretty decently (19/27, 177 yards, two touchdowns).

In addition, as we talked about all week that in Brees' absence the rest of the team was going to have to raise their level of play and they certainly did. Alvin Kamara was simply superb as he was dancing and toying with defenders all afternoon long, Deonte Harris returned a punt for a touchdown, the defense forced a turnover and returned it for a touchdown, and officials didn't blow a single call. Okay, so maybe they didn't get every call right but at least they didn't blow this fumble return for a touchdown dead.

All of the elements that needed to step up and play well did on Sunday and that's what led New Orleans to knock off the Seahawks at home in September for the first time in Pete Carroll's tenure as head coach. Carroll had previously been 15-0 at CenturyLink Field in September as the Seahawks head coach.

Of course, Drew Brees was pretty pumped up about the victory for his teammates, franchise, and city. He took to Twitter on Sunday to express his level of excitement...

Amen Drew, amen. Heck of a win for the Who Dats on Sunday.

Their next test comes on Sunday Night Football at the dome as the Saints will play host to the Dallas Cowboys.
