Here are 30 Kids Ready for Adoption in Louisiana

There's been a lot of talk recently about the United States Supreme Court's consideration of the constitutionality of the Roe vs. Wade decision.

Without getting into whether or not abortion should be legal, let's look at something that IS legal and NEEDS to be talked about: adoption.

Only about 2% of Americans have adopted a child, with many of those adoptions happening overseas. I know that there are children overseas who need help, but we have thousands here in the United States that need parents, too.

According to statistics from the Adoption Network site, over 400,000 children are in foster care in the United States. Of those, over 114,000 can NOT be returned to their parents and, as such, are in need of adoption.

We accessed the Adopt US Kids website to bring you 30 kids who are waiting for new families here in Louisiana.

ROMEKA AND GARYANA

Romeka is a 15-year-old energetic young lady. She enjoys playing basketball
and shopping in her free time. She loves game nights, with Monopoly being her favorite game. She loves to dance and wants to attend dance school. She is the younger sibling and tends to act as if she is the oldest. She is very protective of her older sister and wants a forever home together with her sister. She wants to travel to different states to explore and have fun. Her favorite food is pepperoni pizza. Romeka gets along well with others and has lots of potential. With the right forever home she can thrive and become a successful individual.

Garyana is a 16-year-old that has a strong bond with her younger sister. She enjoys
going to school and participating in track and field. She loves the relay races. She enjoys family outings and hanging out with friends. She enjoys playing UNO with family. She is a social butterfly. Garyana says she loves to travel and hopes her forever family does as well. She wants to be in a home where she and her sister can be together. She is very family-oriented and wants a loving, nurturing home where she can thrive. She desires love and guidance from her forever family, and hopes they will help her reach her greatest potential.

ALISSA AND JADYNN

Alissa has a big personality and a smile to match. She's a true leader who is willing to stand up for herself and others. She loves to cook and wants to publish her own cookbook one day. She also enjoys sports and maintains good grades. She is also protective of her little brother, Jadynn.

Jadynn is a soft-spoken, very polite kid who enjoys working in the yard and working with his hands. He is inquisitive and likes to take things apart and put them back together. Jadynn wants to be a mechanic when he grows up. Jadynn loves rice and gravy.

Alissa and Jadynn have a loving relationship and desire to be adopted together to maintain their family connection.

CELINE

Celine is a sweet, loving gentle girl with a big heart. She loves spreading her love by telling people she loves them and for people to say they love her too. She is smart and incredibly sensitive. Celine loves cats and desires to her one someday. She hopes to be a veterinarian assistant when she gets older. Celine is a very talented artist who enjoys drawing pictures of cats and other animals. Celine desires a family that will assist her with reaching her full potential. She has a lot of love to give and is looking for a family that is willing to receive love and return the love.

MADDOX

Maddox is a friendly child who loves to engage in conversation. Maddox loves being outdoors where he can ride his bike and fish. He also enjoys reading books and playing video games. His favorite foods are pizza and just about anything from McDonald's. Maddox does well in school but does benefit from extra support in the school and home setting. He is looking for a family that will help him reach his full academic potential. Maddox says that he wants to be adopted and would like two parents and would like other children in the home. Maddox is looking for a family that will provide him with love and patience.

JONATHAN

Jonathan is an amazing kid with a beautiful smile and a warm heart. He is a very energetic child who loves basketball, baseball, soccer, and video games. Jonathan enjoys being outdoors and enjoys the opportunity to run and play. Jonathan enjoys basketball very much. He desires to play in the NBA someday. He is also very sweet, loving, and kind. Jonathan is looking for a forever family who is patient and loving. His forever family needs to be willing to assist him with reaching his full academic potential. He is excited about meeting new people and is willing to be adopted.

DAGEUS

Dageus is a handsome twelve-year-old boy. Dageus is tall and slim with dark brown hair. Dageus loves to draw and play different games and with toys. Dageus is very talented with his drawing. He enjoys drawing Sonic cartoons and Anime. Dageus is very talkative and friendly. Degus loves to help around the house with chores. He loves to eat pizza and hot chips. Dagues would love to be in a big family. He has a smile that will light up a room. Dageus loves school and he gets along with his peers well. Dageus wants to be accepted into a forever home with a family that will love him unconditionally.

LINDA

Linda is a fun-loving 14-year-old. She likes playing and watching sports. She enjoys other outdoor events like bike riding. Linda likes to swim during the hot summer months and hopes that her forever family has a pool or access to one. Linda does well academically and is proud of her academic achievements. She needs someone who will push and encourage her to meet her greatest potential. She needs a role model who cares about making her a part of their lives. Linda can express her needs, she is very smart and creative.What Linda desires most is what most of us take for granted—a forever family and a home of her own.

JAVONTE

Javonte is an active 7-year-old male that loves to play outdoors with children
his age. He loves playing with Leggos and his action figures. Javonte's favorite snacks are vanilla ice cream cones and french fries. He's in the first grade and is eager and willing to learn. Javonte needs a two-parent home that can assist Javonte with his challenges and provide him with supervision, support, guidance, and unconditional love.

TERRICK

Terrick describes himself as kind, hardworking, and reliable. He is very considerate of others, and he loves helping around the house. Terrick enjoys collecting the latest electronics or gadgets. He also enjoys listening to music, watching cartoons, jumping on the trampoline and riding his bike. Terrick likes to visit with his sisters and wants to maintain his family connection with them. He attends school daily and his favorite subject is Math. Terrick describes his forever family as loving, compassionate, and patient. He loves to eat spicy foods, crawfish, beans and junk food. Terrick is a loving kid with a great sense of humor.

DAKOTA

Dakota is a 14-year-old boy who enjoys basketball, fishing, video games and science. He does well in school. Dakota enjoys reading comic and chapter books. He also enjoys playing cards. He likes to relax by watching movies and professional basketball and football. Dakota is a quiet but friendly young man. He is honest and open with his feelings. He helps around the house. He is learning to become an independent young man. Dakota has a lot of energy and he is looking for a forever home who can match his level of energy. This fun loving child wants a family who is patient and willing to give unconditional love. He is in need of a family that can assist him in reaching his full potential. who enjoys basketball, fishing, video games and science. He does well in school.

JEREMIAH

Jeremiah will surely melt the hearts of his Forever Family with his smile and upbeat spirit. Jeremiah enjoys playing with his toys on the floor and having fun. Jeremiah does not use words to communicate, but he does make sounds and uses hand gestures to communicate his wants. Jeremiah is making progress developmentally and physically. His verbal and motor skills have improved as he grows and strives to perfect daily tasks. He enjoys hugs attention, and lots of affection. He thrives on positive interaction with his caretaker. Jeremiah's adoptive family will need to provide lifelong support and meet his ongoing medical, therapeutic, educational, and emotional needs.

BREZI

Brezi is thirteen years old. She is artistic and creative. She enjoys drawing and making crafts. She loves to read and likes to write poetry. She enjoys spending time with those she is close to and loves to talk. She has a naturally inquisitive nature and enjoys learning about various topics.
Brezi is interested in hair and makeup and loves to experiment with her own, or with anyone who is willing to let her. Brezi is a homebody and prefers to stay home reading or practicing her art rather than going out. She thrives on affection and close relationships. Brezi enjoys school. She is working very hard to succeed and is open to assistance from those who are willing to invest their time and attention with her. Brezi is figuring out who she is and wants the freedom to experiment with her style and how she expresses herself. She needs parents who are open and understanding, and willing to guide her as she navigates adolescence.

DONALD "PEYTON"

Donald aka “Peyton” is a friendly, fun, loving outgoing kid who enjoys meeting new people. He is a very smart and imaginative child who enjoys building and creating with Legos. Peyton enjoys spending time outside riding his bike and catching lizards. He loves all animals/reptiles, but really hopes to have a pet lizard one day. Peyton easily adapts to new environments and he loves being the center of attention. He has a lot of energy and he is looking for a forever family that can match his level of energy. Peyton is a great kid looking for a forever family who is willing to assist him in reaching his full potential.

ZIA'LELA

Zia'Lela is a bubbly, beautiful, happy teenager. She loves to laugh at others and have others laughing with her. Zia'Lela loves reading, drawing, dancing and playing games. Zia'Lela enjoys going to school and making good grades. She participates in various programs and clubs at school. Zia'Lela's foster mother said she is very outgoing, friendly and she shows others respect. Zia'Lela has siblings in foster care and she would love to maintain contact with them. Overall she is a fun-loving teenager looking for a forever family.

EMERIAL

Emerial is a 10-year-old healthy, happy, African American female. She enjoys listening to music, and the show Bubby Gubbies on television. She enjoys playing patty cake, swinging, playing in the water and laying on her left side. Emerial loves to eat and will eat 100% at every meal time. Emerial dislikes being alone, being on her tummy, and touching/grabbing things. Emerial will benefit from parents who will provide her basic needs, be patient and loving.

ALEXANDER

Alexander is a handsome teenage boy. Alexander is a very sweet child. He is very helpful around the house. He is very affectionate and is as caring as a child can be. He loves gardening and being outside. He enjoys school and interacting with teachers and his classmates. He is very appreciative and thankful when people do things for him. He is small in stature but has a huge heart. He wishes to be adopted by a loving family, one that will love him despite his flaws as well as being patient with him while he is adjusting. Tamia is a sweet little girl who enjoys interacting with her peers but also values her quiet time. She enjoys outdoor activities, church activities, and playing with other children her age. Billy also really enjoys rollerblading at the skating rink. Some other activities he enjoys are fishing, playing on his tablet, and playing video games. TEHYA

Tehya a 14 year-old-female child. Tehya enjoys school and has good grades. Tehya_

ALEXIS

Alexis is a cute and playful little girl with a lot of personality. She loves unicorns, dancing playing with Barbies, getting her hair done, and playing on her tablet. When Alexis grows up, she would like to be a cook or a teacher. She is shy at first but soon opens up. Her foster mother says Alexis is very helpful and likes to read. She makes average grades, however, she does not like to do homework and needs someone to take time with her to get it done. Alexis is open to trying new things and going to new places. She is a good eater but refuses to eat cooked carrots. Alexis is very close to her siblings and is looking for a forever family that will allow her to maintain contact with them.

ALIYAH

Aliyah was asked about her Forever Family, she stated she wants her parents to love her. Aliyah enjoys dancing and she participated in a Hip Hop Dance Recital. Like other children her age, she enjoys playing video games, especially Just Dance video games, visits to the bounce house, watching Teen Titans and Andi Mack. Aliyaha's favorite subjects are Science and Social Studies.
