Every St. Patrick's Day Americans dress up in green and celebrate with beer and goodies as if we were in Ireland—but what do actual Irish people think of the treats?

I can totally imagine what this experience may be like for them, and so can anyone else who has ever had "cajun" food outside of Louisiana. Are these St. Patrick's Day treats the equivalent of an out-of-state restaurant throwing some Tony's on a dish and calling it "authentic Louisiana cuisine?"
