(KMDL-FM) Attention parents, grandparents, and caregivers of small children. There has been a nationwide recall issued on a popular snack treat that many of us have fed our children in the past. If you currently have any of this product on hand, you are cautioned not to feed this to your little one.

Isn't it hard to believe that all of those people who frustrate you so much in traffic, online, at work, and at home were once sweet, innocent, precious babies? At no other time in our lives are we allowed to cry at will, demand food, and occasionally puke down the backs of people we love than when we are infants. Okay, babies are like tiny drunks that we can't help but adore and protect.

As I recall, when my kids were little, they're now 30 and 28 years old, so it's been a while since we've had to consider snacks that are chewable, digestible, and nutritionally necessary for our kids. But I do remember purchasing a lot of products sold under the Gerber Brand. And, unfortunately, that is the brand whose product is the subject of a recall that was issued earlier this week.

Why Are Gerber Baby Snacks Being Recalled?

It is actually the Gerber corporation that is the catalyst behind this recall. This is the case in so many product recalls. The manufacturers of products don't want you or anyone to be injured by using their products. And, they can't afford the negative effects of someone becoming sick or injured from using an unsafe product.

The snack treat for babies that is involved in this voluntary recall from Gerber is pictured below. It is the Arrowroot Biscuits. The reason for the recall is the potential presence of soft plastic or paper pieces.

Please note that not all Gerber Products are being recalled, and not all packages of this particular product are included in the recall advisory. Gerber, in a statement, said the potential pieces of plastic and paper came from the supplier of the arrowroot flour. Gerber has terminated that supplier for this product.
