Overnight Shooting in Lafayette, Louisiana Lands Man in Local Hospital
The Lafayette Police Department responded to an early morning shooting just after 1:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 14, 2023.
According to Sergeant Matthew Benoit, Public Information Officer with the LPD, the shooting took place in the 200 block of Madeline Avenue.

When officers arrived on the scene, a male was found in the roadway suffering from gunshot wounds.
He was transported to a local hospital and is listed in stable condition.
The investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
