Abbeville Woman Identified In Fatal Johnston Street Motorcycle Crash
Authorities have identified the woman who died following a crash involving a motorcycle and pickup truck on Johnston Street in Lafayette.
According to the Lafayette Police Department, the victim was 50-year-old Jolene Wheelock of Abbeville.
Wheelock was on the motorcycle involved in the collision that occurred Thursday afternoon in the 6900 block of Johnston Street.
Crash Happened During Busy Evening Commute
Police say officers responded to the scene at approximately 4:28 p.m. on June 25 after receiving reports of a major traffic accident in the southbound lanes of Johnston Street.
Investigators determined that a pickup truck and motorcycle collided while traveling southbound toward Maurice.
Wheelock was pronounced dead at the scene.
