Lafayette Regional Airport and Acadiana Regional Airport will be receiving federal funding to help offset costs caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to Rep. Clay Higgins's office, the Federal Aviation Administration money will be used to pay for operations, personnel, and debt service payments. The money may also be used to pay for the cleaning and sanitization of the airport facilities and to pay for janitorial services.

Lafayette Regional Airport will receive nearly $2.3 million, while Acadiana Regional Airport will get $57,162.

Two Lake Charles airports will also receive FAA funding. Lake Charles Regional Airport will receive just over $1 million, while Chennault International Airport will receive $57,162.
