People mourn in different ways, this mom mourned by texting.

Carole Adler's son Taylor was only 21-years-old when he passed away while on duty with the Colorado State Patrol.

Carole said that she and her son text each other daily and that she was the last person he texted on the day he died.

“Every day, it hits me like a ton of bricks, when I can’t text him,” Adler told KUSA. “We’re just that close. Everything that happened in his life was in my life.”

After Taylor passed she still texted his phone everyday. One day she got a text back with,

“I don’t think your texts are going where you think they are,”

The person was Sgt. Kell Husley, of the Greeley Police Department. He had just gotten a new phone with Taylor's number. Carole explained who she was and who her son was.

Sgt. Kell told Carole that he would get a new number but she told him no, because he had the job that her son always wanted. Sgt. Husley told her he always felt like someone was looking after him, along with telling her the experience has renewed his passion and energy for what he does, and that he feels a connection with her son Taylor.  (cue the goosebumps)

What an amazing story.
