Not Everyone’s Happy About New Racially Diverse Band-Aids Colors

Johnson & Johnson's new "Our Tone" bandages are the latest line of Band-Aid bandages. Johnson & Johnson says the "Our Tone" bandages are designed to embrace all skin colors.

The new "Our Tones" Band-Aid bandages are available in three shades of brown. "Our Tone" bandages are available wherever Band-Aid bandages are sold including Amazon.

Johnson and Johnson released a line of multi-colored Band-Aid bandages in 2005 but were discontinued due to the lack of sales. And of course, the company has made clear bandages for years now.

After nine months of planning, the new "Our Tone" Band-Aid bandages are hopefully here to stay. Johnson & Johnson believes the move is right for the current times we are living in where the desire for racial justice is prevalent.

The reviews are mixed. Not everyone is delighted about the new colors of Band-Aid bandages.

Johnson & Johnson introduced Band-Aid bandages in 1920. The bandages were an idea given to Johnson and Johnson by employee Earle Dickson from Highland Park, New Jersey.

Dickson's wife Josephine has a history of cutting and burning herself. Earle's idea was to have a bandage around the house so that she could dress her wounds with ease when she was alone and without help.

Dickson ended up becoming the vice president of Johnson & Johnson and retired in 1957.
