Reddit user secondcircle4903 posted this photo of an electrical worker pulling fuses during the flood of 2016, and it's gone viral.

The memes so far have included "Someone needs a raise", "Yes, this is OSHA.  We'd like to have a word with you", "Where are my safety gloves?" and "Nope. Nope nope nope nope!".

Seeing this picture brings up a few thoughts.  The first, and foremost: Appreciation.  Over 5 feet of water inundating a substation, and this guy walks/floats/swims through it to get the job done.  I am guessing that he was pulling the fuses to turn off power to the neighborhood to protect the residents who were flooding.  Amazing!  The second and third thoughts were already reflected in the memes: This guy needs a raise, and NOPE! NOPE! NOPE!!

All jokes aside, people like this, and hundreds, if not thousands of others, are dedicated to keeping us powered, online, entertained, warmed, cooled, fed, (cleanly) clothed EVERY DAY!  Kudos to the men and women of the power companies!
