Pug In North Carolina Tests Positive For Coronavirus

NBC News is reporting that a pug in North Carolina has tested positive for the coronavirus.

Duke University reportedly did a study on an entire family and they found that Winston, the dog, and three family members had the coronavirus. Not all of the family tested positive though, one female tested negative for COVID and two other pets tested negative too.

The CDC says that there is no evidence to support the claim that animals can help spread the virus, but they do recommend you do not let your pets come into contact with sick people.

Winston's appetite decreased and that's what led his owners to have him tested. Scientists believe this pug is the first dog in the United States to be infected by the virus.
