This is not an illusion, it's an actual electric blue lobster. It was caught by 14-year-old Meghan LaPlante from Old Orchard Beach, located right off the coast of Maine.

She is only 14-years-old but she has her own lobster business. She was pulling up traps and she spotted it rather easily!  According to the University of Maine:

"The coloration comes from a genetic defect that causes the lobster to produce an excessive amount of a particular protein that gives the lobster that unique coloration, very rare"

It's actually so rare that only about one in every two million lobsters will have this effect. Meghan told WCSH-TV that she will donate the lobster that she calls "Skyler" to the Maine State Aquarium. It will join other rare lobsters caught in Maine.

You can check out Meghan in action in the video below when she was 12-years-old.
