Service Chevrolet Cadillac to Donate Car Wash Proceeds to Fallen Lafayette Officer’s Family
In a heartfelt tribute to a fallen hero, The Wash at Service Chevrolet Cadillac will be donating 100% of the proceeds from their car wash to the family of Senior Corporal Segus Ramon Jolivette, who tragically lost his life during a standoff situation last week.
Since his passing, the community has come together in mourning and support, with tributes pouring in for Jolivette's family, including his wife and five children. The Lafayette Police Department, where Jolivette served for 11 years, has seen an outpouring of respect and love. A makeshift memorial outside the Lafayette police station has become a gathering point, where his colleagues and community members have left tokens of remembrance.
One of Jolivette’s colleagues shared a touching gesture, noting that he made sure to put some extra tire shine on the wheels of Jolivette’s unit to get it "right," a testament to Jolivette’s known habit of keeping his unit sparkling clean.
Sgt. Robin Green of the Lafayette Police Department confirmed that Jolivette was meticulous about his vehicle’s appearance, adding, “Officer Jolivette’s unit and uniform were always on point. And someone did put Armor All on his tires… and left the can of tire shine next to it.” She expressed that Jolivette will be “deeply missed” by all who knew him.
Service Chevrolet Cadillac is inviting the community to join them in honoring Corporal Jolivette. Lorraine Luquette, General Manager of Service Chevrolet Cadillac, shared the dealership’s plans: “This Thursday and Friday, The Wash at Service Chevrolet Cadillac invites the community to join us in supporting the family of Corporal Segus Ramon Jolivette, a dedicated 11-year veteran of the Lafayette Police Department. In memory of Corporal Jolivette, 100% of proceeds from all car washes on August 1st and 2nd will be donated directly to his family.”
Luquette emphasized the significance of the event, noting that while she was unaware of Jolivette’s dedication to his unit’s cleanliness, it makes the car wash fundraiser even more meaningful. “It’s an even better reason for folks to come out and get their vehicle looking ‘right’ in his memory,” she said.
In their message, Service Chevrolet Cadillac expressed their commitment to the cause: “We encourage everyone to come by for a car wash, knowing that your support will provide much-needed assistance to the Jolivette family during this difficult time. Together, we can honor a fallen hero and show our gratitude for his service and sacrifice.”
This heartfelt gesture from Service Chevrolet Cadillac is the latest example of the way we come together in the Lafayette community in times of grief and an opportunity for everyone to contribute to the legacy of a dedicated officer whose life and service touched many in Lafayette.
