Peeling crawfish can be difficult your first few times. It definitely takes a while to get the hang of it.  If you don’t follow the steps properly, you could lose some of the meat in the tail too. In Louisiana, true Cajuns are pros at peeling them. Parents start teaching their children at a very young age because if they don’t that means they are going to be stuck doing it for them. Acadiana, meet Braxton. At Six-year-old, Braxton is a master crawfish peeler. His mom, Kindy, said he started eating crawfish when he was around 2 years old and by 4, he was already an expert mudbug peeler.

I remember those days all too well. I would peel a bunch of crawfish and put them on the side for my kids to eat while I would try to get a few in for myself. So much for that. They were already gone by the time I peeled just ONE for me. They would stick several of those suckers in their mouth at the same time instead of eating them one by one.

Braxton encourages anyone who wants to learn how to peel crawfish to simply watch his tutorial video. Or if you just want to see a super cute kid with mad crawfish peeling skills do his thing, take a look.  But, be sure to watch until the very end when he explains how to remove the poo poo.

Share this with a newbie crawfish eater. Braxton can show them exactly how to peel them.  Hey, Braxton would be great at teaching your kids and they’ll probably enjoy his video too.  GEAUX Braxton!
