Student Allegedly Tried to Stab Baton Rouge Police Officer

Baton Rouge Police responded to a disturbance at  Idea Bridge Academy on Thursday, March 9.

A large disturbance reportedly happened on the campus of Idea Bridge Academy Thursday afternoon and while police were there a 15-year-old student allegedly tried to stab an officer with a knife.

WAFB reports that the student says she brought the knife to school to stab another student.

While police were attempting to detain those participating in the fight, that is when the student allegedly attempted to stab a uniformed officer.

The news station reports, "The teen was arrested and placed in the East Baton Rouge Juvenile Detention for aggravated assault on a police officer, carrying a dangerous weapon on school property, and resisting an officer."

This is the second major disturbance on a school campus this week in Baton Rouge.
