FEMA announced today that federal disaster assistance is available to the state of Louisiana to help with response efforts due to emergency conditions from Hurricane Francine.
Louisiana needs help and the federal government has been slow to open the purse strings. Governor Edwards is in the nation's capital today to see about securing more federal aid.
The federal government has declared five more parishes in Louisiana eligible for disaster aid as a result of Hurricane Delta. Those parishes are Beauregard, Lafayette, Rapides, St. Landry and St. Martin.
