Would you ever marry someone if they left you and your family in a time of crisis?  Apparently, Patricia Legarreta believes there is nothing wrong with spending the rest of her life with the man who deserted her during the Aurora, Colorado theater massacre.  I know diamonds are a girl's best friend, but her story has left the internet puzzled as to why she would let the man who abandoned her put a ring on it.

Patricia Legarreta and her boyfriend Jamie Rohrs took her 4-year-old daughter and their infant son to see the midnight showing of the 'The Dark Knight Rises.' Other than having kids out that late, everything seemed like a regular night out, until what turned out to be a major tragedy changed everything.

According to the Huffington Post, once the shooting starting Jamie Rohrs lost his 4-month-old son, but he was able to get himself out of the theater.

I got to my truck and I drove across the mall," Rohrs added. "I'm going to call 911 and trying to call Patricia and it's just ringing, and every time it rings I'm like they're dead, they're dead, your whole family is dead."

Once Jamie figured out that his girlfriend was safe at a local hospital, he decided to do something drastic.  The first thing most people ask their significant other after a tragic event is if they are doing OK, but Jamie's question was on another level.

He just looked at me and he said, 'I know this is not the time and place, but will you marry me?"

And in case you're wondering... she said YES!

While it is totally understandable that Jamie was fleeing for his life, he is still getting a lot criticism from the interwebs for his decision to leave Patricia behind - especially when his situation is juxtaposed with the story about the three girls in the theater whose lives were saved that night due to the heroic acts of their boyfriends.
