Popular Herbal Tea Recalled Due To Pesticide Contamination
Herbal tea is a great choice when fighting a cold or an allergy flare-up from all the pollen in Louisiana, but you should avoid purchasing this particular tea for now.
The United States Food and Drug Administration is concerned about trace amounts of pesticides being detected in an organic tea made by the Yogi brand. This is a popular choice for tea drinkers and can be found in almost every Louisiana grocery store and nationwide.
Organic Yogi Echinacea Immune Support product is recalled because pesticide residues were detected above action levels.
Not all Yogi teas are in question, just the Echinacea Immune Support tea bags. Around 900,000 tea bags have been recalled despite there not being any reports of illnesses related to the contamination.
According to the FDA, 54,846 boxes of the 16-count boxes of Organic Yogi Echinacea Immune Support tea bags. Look for UPC 0 76950 45010 3. They also suggest checking the left side of the box next to the Best By date for the lot codes listed below.

The FDA has not released an official detailed press release so there is no guarantee that the store the recalled item was purchased from will refund you. Consumers are urged to avoid consuming this tea and to discard it properly.
