UPDATE: Authorities have declared an all clear at Broussard Middle School. Broussard Police say students have been allowed back to class

10:19 a.m. -- Captain Kip Judice of the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's office has confirmed Broussard Middle School has been evacuated this morning following a bomb threat.

According to a representative of the Lafayette Parish School system, the students have been evacuated to a safe location and the threat is being investigated.

Emergency personel including a bomb sniffing k-9 unit are on the scene.

Broussard Middle Students Evacuated After Alleged Bomb Threat
Lafayette, LA- Earlier this morning Broussard Middle School administrators were informed that a student had written on a bathroom stall’s wall that there was a “pressure-cooker bomb” on the school’s campus.
Students were immediately taken off of the school’s grounds and brought to a safe and secure location. The Lafayette Police Department has dispatched a SWAT team and is currently checking the entire Broussard Middle perimeter for any potential threats.
Again, no students were harmed and all parents have been notified as to the exact location the students were moved to.
