If you were around the intersection of Johnston St. and Ambassador Caffery Sunday afternoon you may have seen a fire hydrant spraying water in the air.

We aren't sure what caused this to happen at the busy intersection in Lafayette, but with temperature near the 100-degree mark, I highly doubt anyone would complain about this impromptu "shower."

It appears that the Lafayette Utilities System was able to get this matter under control as you can see an "LUS" truck on the scene in this video.

Had I seen this, I may have gotten out of my vehicle and enjoyed a nice shower on such a HOT day.

UPDATE: Some have suggested that LUS was "flushing out" the hydrants today in Lafayette. Note, these reports are unconfirmed.
