UPDATE: Lafayette Police announce one officer will be placed on administrative leave and two other officers involved will be temporarily pulled from regular duty pending additional investigative information followed Saturday night's incident at Acadiana Lanes, according to a press release from their office.

Interim Chief Scott Morgan has ordered an immediate investigation into the matter based on preliminary findings from the video. You can watch eye witness video footage below.

LPD spokesman Sgt. Wayne Griffin tells our news partners at KATC that the officer seen punching the teenager in video footage is the officer who is being placed on administrative leave.

UPDATE: KLFY News reports that a 16-year-old male has been charged with interfering with a police investigation, battery on a police officer, and resisting arrest, Lafayette Police have confirmed.

The Lafayette Police Department responded to a call about someone with a gun Saturday night at Acadiana Lanes off of Ambassador Caffery. Lafayette Police Public Information Officer Sgt. Wayne Griffin tells KLFY-TV that police did receive a call at 10 pm in regards to male showing kids a gun in the parking lot.

Several videos have surfaced on social media showing a large police presence at the bowling alley. In one video, you can see police attempting to detain someone inside the building.

In another video, a police officer is seen talking to someone when he is approached by someone else and a scuffle ensues.

KLFY-TV 10 reports that a 14-year-old male was approached by the police, then taken to the ground. Eyewitnesses tell KLFY that they saw police punch the teenager multiple times and even tased him.
