Here we are again, atop a list we would rather not be #1 in. According to data collected by the website CarInsuranceComparison, Louisiana has the worst drivers in the entire country!!!

For the second year in a row, our home state took the title by finishing in the top five for three of the five categories they used to grade each state. The five categories used to grade the states are: fatality rates per 100 million vehicle miles traveled, failure to obey traffic laws, drunk driving, and tickets issued to those driving for speeding & careless operation.

Coming in at number two was South Carolina and at number three it was Mississippi. The state with the BEST drivers is Vermont.

Having lived here my entire life, I can honestly say that I am NOT surprised Louisiana ranks #1 when it comes to bad drivers. Too often we hear about fatalities on our roadways that involve alcohol, and it seems like everyday we read about accidents on I-10. I hope that we soon improve upon this ranking. If there is one list I would not mind being last in, it is this one!! Its time we make our roadways safer in Louisiana.
