The mother of a murdered seven-year-old girl burned down the killers house finally after five years.

Last week Diena Thompson set fire to a house in Orange Park, Florida. That's where convicted killer Jared Harrell lives, who killed and raped her seven-year-old daughter in October of 2009.

Diena Thompson told News 4 Jax:

"I get to burn their house down, I'm the big bad wolf this time, knocking down your door!"

Thompson's 7-year-old daughter Somer, disappeared while walking home from school. Two days later, her body was found in a landfill 55 miles from her home.

The convicted killer, 29-year-old Harrell, lived at the house with his mother at the time of the murder. The house was later foreclosed and the bank transferred ownership to the Somer Thompson Foundation.

The Orange Park Fire Chief said they would use the house as training and that it was appropriate that Mrs. Thompson set the house on fire.

The Thompson family has agreed, and once the debris is all cleaned up they want to make the land a playground in honor of her daughter.
