Off Duty Lafayette Firefighters Save House From Burning Down
Two off duty Lafayette Firefighters have been credited for saving a house in Scott from burning to the ground.
The fire started when the homeowner reportedly threw a lit cigarette into a plastic pot, thus catching the back of the house on fire.
Luckily, two off duty firefighters, from Lafayette, saw the fire and quickly extinguished it with a garden hose. The Scott Fire Department did respond to the fire to conduct an investigation.
The fire department reminds you to always properly extinguish a lit cigarette because they can smolder for hours if they are not properly extinguished.
