When you are in the public eye you're always subject to being scrutinized by what you say and/or what you do. President Trump recently "congratulated" a Purple Heart recipient and the internet reacted.

The U.S. Army sergeant lost a leg in Afghanistan and upon his return he was rewarded with this the medal. However, while President Trump was talking about this honor, he congratulated the man here and that's when the internet quickly reacted.

Many, including some U.S. Veterans, suggested that President Trump should have thanked this army sergeant, rather than congratulate him.

I'm sure that's what the President meant here, but once he said "congratulations" it was over. You knew what was coming.

Still, we should not let words distract us from this sergeant's service and sacrifice to our country.
