Nothing can prepare you for the horror that waits around every turn in a nightmare-world that is bigger, better, and scarier than ever. The Lafayette Science Museum hosts MUSEUM OF FEAR on its 3rd floor from 7:00 pm until 11pmevery Friday and Saturday night in October.
The public is invited to attend a celebration of life event to honor Mickey Shunick this Saturday, September 29th, inside Parc International in downtown Lafayette. Gates to the park will open at 11:30 am, with the event beginning at noon.
We are excited for the annual Red, White, and Boom celebration in Downtown Lafayette for the Fourth of July. The event, which will benefit the education system of The Acadiana Symphony Orchestra, will feature plenty of family fun throughout the afternoon and evening in the Downtown District.
April 23, 2012 We are now in "festival week" here in Lafayette and that means just one thing, its time for Festival International de Louisiane 2012. Downtown Lafayette will be the setting of multiple stages, events, displays, and more throughout the week and weekend.
On any average Sunday night, Downtown Lafayette is usually quiet and recovering from the partying over the weekend. However, with Mardi Gras weekend upon us, Jefferson Street had no chance to rest this past Sunday night. The Greenroom in downtown Lafayette hosted it's annual masquerade ball and this year the brass band Soul Express took to the streets of the entertainment district.
January 18, 2012 For quite some time now, bars and nightclubs in the downtown Lafayette district have been forced to pay a levy for additional security within the district on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights. Basically, the establishments were be forced to pay an additional "police tax" due to the amount of additional security needed in the district on it's busiest nights. Reason being, Lafayette Police say that the additional security was draining it's overtime budget.
Just as the seasons begin to change, and we get that first cool breeze in October, it must mean that Halloween is just around the corner. And with that comes the opening of Lafayette's BIGGEST haunted house. The "Museum Of Fear" has been revamped and expanded this year, and the Museum is ready for business
The city of Lafayette has invested a lot in revitalizing the Downtown Lafayette Entertainment District. In recent years we have seen better lighting, better road ways, and several other eye catching improvements. However, a recent rash of graffiti symbols and portraits seems to be undermining the efforts of the city in this particular district.
All week leading into St Patrick's Day and "Patty In The Parc," we have highlighted some rather familiar faces and personalities of Downtown Lafayette. In our last feature, we make a visit to maybe the most recognizable personality in Downtown Lafayette....Frankie from "Frankie Burgers."
