Now that Upfronts 2015 have entered the scheduling phase, we thought most of the major renewals, cancellations and pickups had delivered their biggest surprises. Not so apparently, as FOX has decided to put American Idol out to pasture after 15 seasons, ending the reality singing competition for good next year.
It looks like Ryan Seacrest will soon be the only original member of 'American Idol' left on the show. The Hollywood Reporter is saying that former judge Randy Jackson has announced that he is officially leaving 'Idol' for good.
There were rumors that there was going to be a big 'American Idol' shake-up, but before anything was made official Randy Jackson has given the show his walking papers. Jackson announced today that Season 12 will be his last on the hit show.
TMZ is reporting that the only original judge left on American Idol, Randy Jackson, is no longer going to be on the judge's panel in the upcoming season. Yes, the "Dog Pound" has been closed!!!!

During an appearance on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show on Wednesday, ‘American Idol’ producer Nigel Lythgoe confirmed judges Jennifer Lopez, Steven Tyler, and Randy Jackson would be back for season 11 of the show.

The new season of American Idol debuts tonight! Last year, I said that I wasn't interested in this season, no Simon, no Kara etc etc. I MAY have had a change of heart.
