On Saturday December 17th history was made in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome for the University of Louisiana-Lafayette. The Ragin Cajuns won their first ever bowl game as they defeated the San Diego State Aztecs 32-3o in the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl.

In preparation of the New Orleans Bowl on Saturday Dec. 17th, the "Pride Of Acadiana" Marching Band, Cheerleaders, and Fans from UL have taken over the French Quarter in New Orleans. UL and it's fans have waited for this type celebration for decades, and it has finally arrived. The Cajuns will make their first bowl appearance in over 40 years when the take on San Diego State University this weekend, and the fans from UL are taking it all in. Here is a video of "The Cajun Nation" taking part in the "Second Line March" in New Orleans.

A couple of weeks ago, while the Saints were pounding the Colts on NBC's Sunday Night Football, the network had a cut away to the St. Louis Cathedral in the French Quarter, and there appears to be a flash zoom across the sky while the cameras were rolling. Viewed in real-time, it's hard to see much more than something flashing across the screen. But a frame-by-frame scrutiny of the video reveals a rod-shaped object topped with brightly lit dots.

The Superdome has always been an iconic part of New Orleans and in 2005 was a symbol of agony during Hurricane Katrina.
