A SpaceX rocket exploded on its launchpad this morning. The explosion destroyed the rocket and a communications satellite that was attached to it.

The explosion happened at Cape Canaveral, Florida while tests were being conducted. The satellite attached to it was a communications satellite that was going to be used by Facebook to provide internet service to parts of Sub-Saharan Africa.

The rocket was set to launch Saturday, but during the routine tests conducted today, the explosion occurred. Luckily, no one was injured in the explosion and an investigation into the explosion is currently underway.
