It has been the home to basketball games, concerts, wrestling events, hockey games, monster truck shows, and more...Its the Lafayette Cajundome!!! However, the venue that has been open since 1985 needs a new name...for at least five days that this. The management at the Cajun Dome is auctioning off the name of the venue for five days with all proceeds benefiting the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Acadiana. For the past ten years, the management at the Cajundome has played a vital role in helping fund the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Acadiana.

Each year the management at the dome attempts to find a way to help fund this great organization, and this year is no exception. The Cajundome is giving you, your company, and/or your friends a chance to bid on the name change starting February 5th on eBay.The  bidding for the name change will start at $500.

The highest bidder on Tuesday February 14th will have whatever name they wish attached to the marquee at the dome for five days. Plus, the winning bidder will receive VIP tickets for all ticketed events at the dome for the month of March. Imagine, for the week of Mardi Gras in Lafayette, the city's trademark building could be named after you, your business, or your idea. They do remind you that all names must be done with class. No profanity or offensive names will be permitted in this contest.

Talking around the station, we too have all come up with our own unique name for the dome. Here is what a few of us would rename the Cajundome if we were to be the highest bidder on February 14th.

Chris Reed - "The Big Cajun Burger"

Candice - "The Coach Hud Dome"

Chris Logan - "The Hot 107-9 Home Dome"

Digital - "The Facebook.com/1079ishot Dome"

Brad Striker - "The Jammin' Cajun"
