The new Amazon Fulfillment Center in Carencro is expected to begin the hiring of new employees this summer. The facility is scheduled for a Fall 2021 opening.

Lafayette Economic Development Authority (LEDA) will announce center employment and construction employment information as it is available.

When the official announcement was made in December regarding the opening of the fulfillment center, Gov. John Bel Edwards said it would create 500 direct and nearly 1,000 indirect jobs for Acadiana.

Subcontractors, vendors or suppliers interested in doing business with the Amazon Fulfillment Center can do the following:

Subcontractors -- Please submit inquiries to Steve Oldendorf with Graycor at steve_oldendorf@graycor.com.

Vendors/Suppliers -- For opportunities to support the Amazon Fulfillment Center facility once operational, local businesses can send their information to: amazon-nafc-procurement@amazon.com using the below link to the "Amazon Fulfillment Services Supplier Inquiry" form.

Amazon will be working with LED FastStart and LEDA once positions are available. The company will work with state and local workforce development partners to host informational sessions and hiring events in the area to make residents aware of these opportunities and help to answer any questions regarding the hiring process.

We'll be sure to stay on top of any of these hiring events once Amazon makes that information available.

Things to Look Forward to in 2021
