
Lafayette E-Bike Crash Victim Dies After Camellia Blvd Incident
Lafayette Police have confirmed that the victim involved in a major e-bike crash on Camellia Boulevard has died.
The crash, which happened on Friday afternoon (May 15), prompted a large emergency response and temporarily shut down traffic in the area as investigators worked the scene.
Victim Identified As 67-Year-Old Lafayette Man
Authorities have identified the victim as David Lanclos, a 67-year-old Lafayette resident. According to police, Lanclos was operating the e-bike at the time of the crash and later succumbed to the injuries he sustained.
The incident occurred around 1:54 p.m. in the 1000 block of Camellia Boulevard, a busy corridor near Johnston Street.

Crash Details Still Under Investigation
While officials have not released full details in this latest update, an earlier preliminary investigation indicated that a vehicle was attempting to turn left onto northbound Camellia Boulevard from Woods Crossing as the e-bike was crossing the roadway.
Investigators with the Lafayette Police Department continue to review the circumstances surrounding the crash.
