If you've always fancied yourself as one of the good guys or good girls for that matter then the Lafayette Police Department would be interested in talking with you about a future career in law enforcement.

To help provide potential applicants with a little first-hand knowledge of the skills and physical attributes needed to become a police officer the department has planned a special recruiting event.

The event is planned for Saturday, February 8th. It will be held on campus at Teurlings High School in Lafayette beginning at 9 am. In addition to some basic information about the department and its hiring and work policies, there will also be a physical agility test administered.

So, if you do plan on attending you'll want to come dressed to move. Organizers suggest you show up in athletic wear and athletic shoes. You will also want to make sure that you bring your valid state-issued I.D. Card.

If you need additional information, contact LPD Recruiter, Cpt. Kristi Strong @337-291-8663.
