Is New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees on the trade block? Sean Payton addressed those rumors on FOX Sports Live.

New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton spoke with FOX Sports Live and directly addressed the rumors about Drew Brees being on the trading block.

With Graham being shipped off to Seattle, Pierre Thomas being released, and a number of other familiar faces getting their walking papers it seemed as if no one in a black and gold jersey was safe—not even the quarterback that brought the franchise it's only championship.

Payton quickly squashed the rumors about Brees being traded with four simple words:

Now's not the time.

It may not be time for Brees to go, but it is time for the Saints fans to get used to seeing a new look from a New Orleans offense that was—at times—too dependent on a heavy arial attack.

With the re-up of Mark Ingram's contract, the addition of a speedy C.J. Spiller, and the return of Khiry Robinson the Saints are poised to have a solid rushing attack that could open up the pass. Couple that with a secondary that consists of a healty Jairus Byrd, Kenny Vacarro, Keenan Lewis, and newcomer Brandon Browner at cornerback—the Saints are starting to look a little like that 2009 Super Bowl squad.

But if last season taught us anything, no matter how good it looks on paper, we'll make that call when they hit the field.

At least we know they'll be hitting it with #9 under (their new) center.
