On August 7th, Mickey was brought home, and on August 17th we learned just how strong of a person Mickey Shunick really was. Brandon Scott Lavergne has plead guilty to murdering the young platinum blonde haired lady we have all come to know and admire, yet her smile will forever live on.
Our media partner KATC-TV 3 was on-hand when Brandon Scott Lavergene arrived at a Lafayette Parish Courthouse this morning for an evidentiary hearing. Lavergne is being held on murder charges in the deaths of Mickey Shunick and Lisa Pate.
Yesterday we told you that the Advertiser was reporting that the man accused of murdering UL student Mickey Shunick and Lisa Pate, Brandon Scott Lavergne, would be in court this Friday morning for an evidentiary hearing. Now we're learning, from the same source, that there may be a witness testifying in the Brandon Scott Lavergne case Friday morning.
The Advertiser is reporting that the man accused of murdering Mickey Shunick and Lisa Pate will indeed appear before a judge this Friday, August 17th. Fifteenth Judicial District Court Judge Herman Clause set an evidentiary hearing for 10 a.m. on Friday.
August 9th, the Lafayette Police Department confirmed that they have found the body of missing UL student Mickey Shunick
Today the Lafayette Police Department has announced that the body they recovered in Evangeline Parish on August 7th is indeed that of missing UL student Mickey Shunick. Her body was recovered from a grave site behind a small cemetery just Northwest of Mamou on LA 10.
Much of Acadiana remains on stand-by as we await the confirmation from Lafayette Police on a body that was located yesterday in Evangeline Parish. Paul Mouton, of Lafayette Police, says they are confident in their findings yesterday and that they believe Mickey Shunick has been brought home. Since then, the million dollar question is...Who brought authorities to the grave site in Evangeline Parish?
Following up on the news we reported about remains found in Evangeline Parish earlier today, Cpl. Paul Mouton formally addressed the media as the body they believe to be Mickey Shunick was transported from the scene (pictured above) by the Lafayette Parish Coroner's Office.
A huge break came today in the search for a missing Lafayette girl, when authorities located remains in Evangeline Parish that they believe belong to Mickey Shunick.
