The Astrodome in Houston recently turned 50-years-old and thousands of people waited in-line to get a glimpse of what the iconic figure still looks like from the inside.

Once known as the "8th Wonder Of The World," the Astrodome is all but abandoned and now the city of Houston has to decide what to do with the building. Do they keep it, or do they implode the iconic figure?

Many that walked through the building remember it's better days, but still many in the Houston area want it to remain a part of their community. One visitor said that the dome now reminds him of a fossil, and that it is still beautiful.

For years, the Astrodome was the home to the Houston Astros, and it has hosted thousands of other events. I saw the Astros play the Atlanta Braves there once, and I attended WWE Wrestlemania in the Astrodome. I must say, at the time this building was impressive.

Sadly, the Astrodome is now in the shadow of NRG Stadium and it is has not been used for any events in recent time. What will the city of Houston do with the dome---it remains to be seen. But one thing I am certain of, the memories from inside the Houston Astrodome will never be erased.

I mean, who could ever forget the "Bad News Bears" playing on the turf of the Astrodome?
