HOT 107.9 Delivers Thanksgiving Baskets To Local Familes [VIDEO]

Every year for Thanksgiving we allow our listeners to nominate families that are in need for our annual Thanksgiving basket giveaway. With the help from our friends at Heleaux's Grocery in Lafayette, we were able to deliver baskets to three deserving families in Acadiana.

This year, like in previous years, we received hundreds of emails from our listeners. The challenge always comes with selecting just three families. All are deserving, but these three families just seemed to stand out this year.

For the first time ever, we selected two families from the same city---Abbeville. Both families are going through hard times, and we wanted to make sure that on Thanksgiving Day they had something in the oven and on the table.

After delivering the baskets in Abbeville, we drove up I-49 to the small town of Sunset. A young lady and her husband are going through a lot and her boss recognized that one day when she arrived to work with summer clothes on when temperatures were near freezing. She often goes out of her way to help others, but on this day we went out of our way to ensure that she was rewarded for her efforts and for her generosity.

All of this would not be possible if it weren't for our wonderful listeners who take time out their day to nominate families, and it certainly would not be possible if it weren't for the  people at Heleaux's in Lafayette. Thanks to all of you for helping us put smiles on faces in Acadiana. We did it.
